Apply online for a New York (HUT permit w/ NY Registration (Required for all new applicants)
Cost: $99.99 1st permit (includes NYHUT registration)
Additional trucks are discounted at the payment center.
Authorities Direct Processing Center will process your NY(HUT) Permit application with a usual turn around of 1-4 days (subject to account setup with no discrepancies with NY Tax Dept)
Processing is done same day during normal business hours.
SLIGHT DELAYS FROM NEW YORK ARE POSSIBLE.
If you need more than one truck permitted, complete the online registration process for each truck. However, only checkout(at the payment center) when finished entering all trucks. You will then need to change the quantity to the number if permits needed prior to finalizing your checkout. This will cause the payment center to automatically discount for multiple units.
What happens next?
After submitting your information, you will be directed to the Authorities Direct Payment Center to finish your order. Check out as you would any online shopping cart. (You will have to set yourself up as a new customer(takes 1-2 minutes).
You will receive a copy of your NYHUT 30 DAY temporary/permanent permit EMAILED to you once completed. If you do not have EMAIL capabilities, we will be glad to mail /fax you the permit. Although the permit is sometimes issued in the format of a 30 day temp-to -perm document, your vehicle will be on file with the State of NY until normal Series expiration.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
CANCELLATION POLICY: Your credit card transaction will be processed by Authorities Direct. Please EXPECT this on your credit card statement. The Permit cost includes a minimum $50 NON-REFUNDABLE handling fee per permit REGARDLESS of NY State's decision to grant your permit. Effective April 1, 2006 New York requires all new applicants to register prior to be issued a permit (temporary or permanent), this is included in your permit service.
BE ADVISED:
Once you have an active NYHUT account, it is your responsibility to file the quarterly tax returns(same deadlines as IFTA). This must be filed EVEN IF there are not any miles traveled in New York during the quarter.
Furthermore, if you have (or have ever had) a previous account with New York State, permits will NOT be issued if there is a previous unpaid balance or quarterly return that is outstanding.
